Whatever works and keeps you motivated to be active! Good secret because it's a harmless thing but I know some people would be judgey about Secret OP's motivations.

Mine is to have some strength should I ever have to literally fight fascists.
I don't tell anyone because I don't want to seem like an attention seeking SJW.

I get this OP. Not in the same vein but I had trouble motivating myself for certain things and using an outside source to keep going worked wonders that I now do it for myself. But there's nothing wrong if you don't either, keep your motivation if it helps. :)

So I use the same type of motivation to just in general keep my life in order. My natural depressive state is to just kind of zone out and let life happen, but that's not really who I want to be. But I am not good at caring about myself for myself, so I need some kind of external motivation and lately it's been whatever celebrity or author or whoever I find interesting at the time and daydream about befriending.

For a hot minute years ago it was Chris Evans. I happened to live where he grew up and I hiked on trails in the area often, so I had elaborate daydreams about meeting him on the trail and just becoming buds. It was good motivation to keep going out and to actually care about my appearance and cleanliness when I went out in the world.

Lately it's been this musician who is now writing a book. It's been good motivation for me to get back into my creative hobbies, because then if we happen to meet we have something to talk about!

It sounds stalker like, but I'm not creating new hobbies to trap these people into being friends (and the chance of us ever meeting is like .0001%), I'm just using people who have the same hobbies or values to motivate or remind myself that I enjoy those same things and to keep up with them.

That is a lovely image, secret maker, and tbh OP if it works it works! There was a tumblr post some time ago mirroring this sentiment and ending in the phrase "so if thinking that Naruto would be proud of you is what it takes, go grab that toothbrush dattebayo!" which is such a funny little phrase that got me out of a lot of slumps.

Batman, Superman, Spiderman, and Wolverine need to be retired for a bit. They can pop up as side characters if you must, but let some other people (preferably not white men) have the spotlight for a minute.

Personally I would love some Mystique movies (ignoring current X-Men movie!Mystique). Msytique/Destiny need more love.

Batman as written? Definitely overrated, I think I'd be happy to wait awhile for the right writer to come along. I do think he has the potential to be more interesting if writers would stop using him as their edgy, emotionally-constipated self-insert.

I watch so many different things because I like certain actors and am interested in seeing them... sometimes it gets me to watch shows I wouldn't have and they turn out to be great and that's fabulous. And other times, ouch, did you read this script before you signed the dotted line! Were you young and desperate for any work? I don't regret it! I like following certain actors' careers and seeing them develop.

We should do a national event this in the US for foreign aid. It would piss off the conservatives, but like...good!

It would also be nice to save the Corporation for Public Broadcasting/PBS/NPR, but they have budget needs every year so it would have to be ongoing. They should do a telethon at least, though.
