My given name is Leah, and I've never really liked it. I think I dislike more how it looks than how it sounds, if that makes sense. Has also led to many many irritating "OH LIKE THE STAR WARS PRINCESS" jokes. No? That's Leia and is pronounced differently ffs

My favourite names that inevitably get used when naming characters or pets in games are Theo, Arlo, Holly, Lulu, Cassie, Sophie/Sophia, Chloe, Cleo, Maisie, Flora, Emma, Sebastian, Jacob, Benjamin, Sam (my potential name if I was a boy), Lucas and Oliver.

I'm sorry, that sucks. We have a couple family friends named Leah and my dad always calls them Leia (which is weird because he's not even particularly a Star Wars fan). No matter how many times I correct him (because they're too nice to do it), he never remembers.

I will say that there are regional differences. Where I’m from Leah is pronounced Lee-ah, but other places pronounce it Lee. *shrugs*

We've always pronounced Leah as LAY-uh.

Yeah, it's weird how some pronunciations and spellings just stick in peoples' heads, even when they're incorrect. Someone at college once spelled my name "Leighah" and I was almost in tears laughing. She said she'd never seen such a "weird name" before and didn't know how to spell it.
