I just couldn't believe the baby would not be infected, makes NO sense

(Anonymous) 2025-08-08 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
how can you forget that the doctor said: "THE MAGIC OF THE PLACENTA" !!!!!!!!
that's all the explanation you need! it make absolutely 1000% sense.

I'm joking obviously. damn, that movie is fucking ridiculous I hated it so much. Also, even if the blood that passes through the placenta is someone not infected, when the baby pass through the vagina they're going to be infected!!! the vagina will tear when you give birth!!!! so is the baby immune then? no, just not infected. fuck youuuuuu

AAAH I watched this movie last week with my sister and let me tell you: I was SHOCKED at how bad it is. Completely speechless.
I'm used to watch horrible asinine stupid horror B-movies (even z movies), but this beat them all. Yes, it beats also that fucking A Quiet Place that until now was on the top of my most hated movie of all time. Congrats, 28 years late, you win the crown. FUCK YOU.
It's like they wanted to troll us, because seriously, the movie is shot like shit (they shot it with an iPhone???? WHYYY all those different camera effects made no aesthetic sense whatsoever), edited straight from devils living in hell just to torture me while I'm still alive in this earth (the juxtaposition of the boots poem and them marching at the beginning WHY. WHY THE FUCK did you have to be that pretentious??? it didn't mean anything!!!!), stupid like nothing I've ever seen ("the magic of the placenta"), loveless (because seriously, I can only think of this as a massive cash grab on the 28 x later franchise fans) and fucking disgusting with the homage to that UK paedophile at the end (jimmy savile). I didn't know who he was before looking it up online after seeing this train wreck and UGH WHY. Why do something like that, not only to us non-UK fans who were left scratching our heads (actually when that final scene began I just completely lost it and began laughing hysterically from desperation. I had tears and everything), but to UK people that know that that guy was one of the worst sexual offenders in their entertainment history???? WHAT WERE YOU THINKING, DANNY BOYLE???

I'm so fucking glad I pirated this movie. I almost saw it at the theatre because I was so hyped and all the critics love it! I'M LUCKY I'M DIRTY POOR because if I had spent even a single euro on this I would've regretted it for my whole life, as I regret the 2 hours of my useless life I wasted on it.
The only good thing is that I watched it with my sister so I had someone near me to share my pain with. We've been fans of the first movie since it came out (my sister rented it with blockbuster lol we old) and we knew that both the director and the writer were the same as the original so we were pretty sure this last one would be at least decent, but no. NO. WE WERE TROLLED.
AND THE MOVIE MADE A LOT OF MONEY AT THE BOX OFFICE. I will never trust critics again.

Thanks you OP for this secret lol I needed to vent

I disagree. The Alpha provides us with an evolution or hiccup of the virus, one where the Rage virus isn't only blinding rage. It could be the result of a glitch in genetics the way heterochromia seemingly prevented the individual from succumbing to the virus. It could be, as the Alphas we witnessed were bigger individuals (in height and strength) that the genetics that attributed them to their bigger than average sizes contain some mutations that allowed the Rage virus to allow them to be able to think a little more clearer and allow them to feel other emotions, even if briefly, such as love (its clear the Alpha that fathered the baby was concerned about the baby's mother, even understanding that she had been killed and her baby taken).

I do agree a bit that the baby being completely normal is a stretch, but there's more than likely a chance she is an asymptomatic carrier of the virus. Either she has the virus in her and only exposure to her spit/blood can transfer it or because her father was an Alpha, it caused another mutation in the virus that might actually neutralize it, thus making the baby a key to curing/preventing the virus in others. This film is the first in a trilogy and I doubt no one has been trying to fix the issue over the past 28 years. There's a lot of potential and directions the story can go in the next two films, so I feel it's too early to judge fully.

Just my opinion. =)

On one hand I like when zombie apocalypse movies set far out past the outbreak point have adaptations happen in the zombie populace. But on the other hand this was not it, lol.

As an avid lover of 28 days and even 28 weeks (don't tell my friends but I like weeks better), this movie was goddamn awful. Jodie Comer was the only good thing about it.

and people said weeks was the bad one.
