I say this as knowing the sameface problem anime-adjacent art has always had but holy shit I didn't know Hoyo was THAT bad at it.

Hoyo is SO bad about it. It's really frustrating because it's not like there aren't a million other anime-style games out there that manage to have characters that all look distinct and then it's like Hoyo doesn't even try.

Yeah, there are a few outliers that look a bit different but it's pretty bad.
It's especially funny when people do the "this character in this other character's colour scheme" because damn is it even more obvious how little variety there is.

Genshin's faces are different, same with bodies. The meshes are different, it's not recolours. Kaeya's ass has more polygons than ZL's for example. Face shapes are also slightly different.
