I’m also making an effort to leave comments on things I read or things I re-read.

Based on what I’ve heard from fanfic writers, a lot of them are very thankful for even the smallest most generic comments. I do sometimes worry that I’m a bit repetitive, but I just try to mention one or two things I especially liked (the premise of the plot, the writing of characters’ voices, the humour, etc).

And as nonny said above, I like to think that even if the writer doesn’t see or really appreciate the comment, it still contributes just a little positive to the overall fandom atmosphere.
