So edgy.

...Libby is much easier than pirating. It takes longer, but it's sooo much easier.

I started watching a woman play a game, and she talked allllll the way through the first few cut scenes about how much she never wants to have kids, and then asked what was going on in the game.... maybe if you PAYED ATTENTION TO THE GAME YOU'RE PLAYING you'd know that...

I'm sorry you don't have a decent public library.

I think it's cool that you're putting in the effort to leave comments after being used to not doing so, and I think it makes a big difference in keeping the fandom atmosphere, when so often posting fic can feel like shouting into a void (and I don't expect people to 'write for themselves', if they're writing something I like I also want to encourage them even if I feel awkward/like I have nothing to say!). I don't think a simple 'Good fic, I liked it' sounds like a bot, for what it's worth!

(Anonymous) 2025-08-21 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Nah, it's 2025.

Bot: This is a smooth and playful fic — witty without being over-the-top. It keeps the tone light while subtly flipping the script on canon. Well done!

Human: wow goodf ic. i liked it. kudo

oof there's a streamer who like... I like her general vibe and attitude, she's not annoying to listen to, she plays the same type of games I do so I can get an idea of a new game before buying... but good lord, the number of times I've seen her just walk right past a thing you're supposed to pick up. Like, early game when everything really makes a difference, she's just blithely ignoring everything. And iirc she's also the one who, in a different game, seemed to just not understand the basics of game design. Like, the game had laid out VERY CLEARLY where to go and she's backtracking all over the place, going everywhere BUT where the visual markers are trying to lead her and I'm just like... wow, I guess literally anyone can become a video game streamer??

And I feel bad about it, because I don't think she's like... generally dumb! I wouldn't watch any of her videos if I didn't think she was a reasonably-informed adult person who could offer some information of value to me on the subject of video games specifically, but also like... presumably also she has a normal adult life outside of video games that she has in order? But like, how do you make playing video games your business if you don't understand how to play video games?

Skill issue. I don't have access to Libby because I'm not in America (I guess it's American but honestly idk), but pirating books is very easy these days. I can do it without an account in literally 3 clicks + typing the book's name. You just need to know the right places...

(Anonymous) 2025-08-21 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Tbh I can't think of a single streamer or youtuber who doesn't have the issue of at some point not paying attention to a game mechanic, I think part of the entertainment comes from how that fuck-up goes, like does it become a funny bit kind of thing.

There was one streamer IO watched that was good at turn-based and RTS games but put him in a horror game and suddenly he had no idea how video games worked, it was wild.

we're in the minority and we'll get shit on all over this thread for it, but i pirate a lot of my books too. and yes i can buy books from independent shops or utilize a library, and sometimes i do those things, but there's a major convenience to piracy

(Anonymous) 2025-08-21 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Nah dude, I've been pirating shit for over 20 years, and it's fine. But Libby is easier when it comes to books. Hopefully you're just ignorant and not stupid.

(Anonymous) 2025-08-21 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I prefer reading physical books, so I just order them form my library if they are available/published in my country. Otherwise... I usually don't bother pirating them unless it's a incredibly promising plot, which is very rare.
More power to you, nonny. I hope you find books that you like enough to spend a little money on and buy your own copy. If not, whatever lol
