Yeah...I'm not uploading my ID for random websites. DreamWidth does not need my real name and address etc and neither does most other sites online. Maybe I'm just an old paranoid Gen Xer.

Big fat same. I finally paid for a VPN this year just because of all the authoritarianism on the rise here in the US. It was also the motivation I needed to finally download my ao3 bookmarks and organize my fic files.

saaaame here. fuck that. i'll pay for a vpn and if that fails, i just won't post. i guess i'm old and paranoid too. i see people on reddit professional subs who have verified their identity as a licensed whatever and my mind is blown that they're willing to share that information with random ass reddit mods. there's no fucking way

Yup, nope, not uploading my ID to some private service I don't trust - zillennial here. I'm already a relatively paranoid person, so if a service asks me for my ID I'll just stop using it. Genshin Impact kept messaging me for it, and well, guess I'm not gonna play that game again.
