When I was little I was more of a tomboy type and hated pink things and "girly" stuff and never ever wore dresses. Now I love pink and frilly things and wear dresses and skirts all the time (basically I discovered that I just really love cute things :P). It always annoys me a little when people complain about characters being "too girly." There's nothing wrong with being girly, dangit. (Also an annoyance? In lots of fiction when it seems like the first thing the convention-defying heroines do is ditch their awful hated dresses and exchange the sewing and cooking classes for fencing. Why can't she ever still enjoy the frilly dresses, do both the sewing and fencing and still be kick-ass and convention-defying?)
