Do you use AI for anything?

(Anonymous) 2025-08-29 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
Does your job involve using it? Any personal use?

google makes me.

(Anonymous) 2025-08-29 01:26 am (UTC)(link)

If I could turn off those AI results I would but I haven't seen a setting for that. :|

So don't use google. I gave it up years ago and have not missed it at all.

I tinkered for fun for a while, until I learned what it does to the water supply.

What? What does the water supply have to do with it? I am confused.

Not willingly. I have to deal with it as a customer pretty frequently, even though my medical provider and insurance company now.

SA
Through not though.

Re: Do you use AI for anything?

Nope, I just don't see why people find it interesting or funny. And my job involves private medical information so hell no.

I try not to use AI when/where possible, but I have seen things my workplace plans to implement that involve AI. Not looking forward to that.

Never if I have any choice in it at all. The latest round of updated for my office computer has shoved it into even more places and I've had to spend even more time I could have spent working trying to figure out how to get it out of my face to I can work.

Not that I'm aware of. I don't talk to my phone and I turned the AI thing off on Google searches, and I don't use it for art or anything...to be fair, I did TRY to use it for art once or twice, but the results either didn't happen at all or were terrible, so I'm not interested anymore. Otherwise, I just avoid.

Nah, avoid it like the plague. I work in a small independent shop and any graphic design/advertisement stuff is done by us from scratch.

No, never. Not unless it's completely unavoidable. I hate it.

I don't use it at all if I can help it.

It is helpful in making you squishy humans destroy the planet, mwahahahahaha.

I have used AI chat for journal exercises/talking out my thoughts. It was interesting and helpful at times but a lot of the responses were very repetitive and poorly written. I've read about people getting into bad mental states from over-relying on AI for stuff like that so I always kept in mind that it was saying random stuff, not what a real person would say, and avoided using it too often.

Sadly have to sometimes because in my field it's a must now. People absolutely think that LMM designs looks good, I want to torn my eyes out

Not voluntarily. I've seen it pop up in search results.

I admit that I messed about with suno for a bit but I haven't in a while.

I hate it and I hate how hard it's getting pushed on me. I'm trying to disable/block it everywhere it pops up (both because I personally hate it and because I work adjacent to PHI + HIPAA stuff) but my lab is looking at getting an AI feature and I JUST... it's another sign our leaders are bad at their jobs actually.

No. I’m retired, thank goodness, and I don’t use it at all for personal stuff. It’s not JARVIS or FRIDAY, it’s just a stupid masher of word salads, so why would I bother? Then bring in the environmental and community impacts and I stay away from it.

My job introduced an AI assistant but I only started using it today when I was in a pinch.

I've tried generators to make AI art and used ChatGPT and Grok, but I'm not impressed with it. The former is like playing gacha to generate anything, even as someone who struggles with art it's a waste of time. ChatGPT/Grok also has given me complete misinformation that a search on Wikipedia or Duckduckgo couldn't answer, and the Reddit-style mock friendliness annoys me. Both are crap with image generation too, and the stories are very... Tropey and recycled.

I don't think all uses of AI are wrong, but whenever I see people praise ChatGPT or are obsessed with using it I just think, "seriously?" Such a waste of time.

* could answer, typo. I'm on my break at work and in a rush, heh.
