Re: Author Notes in 'New' Fandoms Fanfics

Like everyone else, I don't think they mean it literally. I don't even think people even offer critiques anymore in most fandoms because it's seen as flaming to some authors.
Along with what everyone else said, I've always seen it as a bit of a lure as well to get people to comment. To get people to try and reassure them without being super self-deprecating about it.
