lmfao spoken like someone whose fandom has never been taken over by a fanon idea that spread like a virus. when fans take their cues from other fans in order to fawn and pander and hope senpai (BNF, clique, whoever is dominating the fandom space) notices them, it becomes a whole hell of a lot more than a writer writing what they want to read and posting it publicly.

I was a fan of a rare fanon, not canon for sure, and had to search for my version of OOC in FFvii. Fun times. I also liked the best fics with different characterisation but it didn't feel the same. I read them but didn't save for later.

I'm trying to remember any fandoms with a widespread OOC I don't like.

I do leave comments to fanfics I like. It just happens that this one fandom has NONE. FUCKING ZERO. They are all kids projecting their mental health issues or, for some reason, MPREG
