I'm not sure if I'd enjoy it as much today as I did back when it aired, but it was a fun, silly movie and I'd love more fun action/adventure films that don't take themselves too seriously. (The Mummy, anyone?)

But uh, maybe with more British actors or at least actors who can do a proper British accent. It's just a shame to see Alan Rickman trying his best and then Kevin Costner talking like... well, Kevin Costner.

it was one of my favorite movies as a teenager, even knowing Costner was the weakest part of it for a reason. now? it still holds up as crazy fun especially if you view it as Costner being in a completely different movie from everyone else. hell, even Morgan Freeman has no idea where he is but at least he's rolling with it. the one-liners from excellent British actors is what makes the movie in spite of Costner being on the screen at times.

I'll have to rewatch it!

Doesn't take itself seriously, but also does not wink at the audience. That is the sweetspot.

STOP WINKING AT THE AUDIENCE!

Good point. I don't like that, it feels clumsy and taking it too far, like you don't trust the audience to see the humor without being super obvious.
