I've grown a real intolerance for lyrics that talk about singing the song that's currently being sung, weirdly - "I'm singing this song to you", "that's why I'm singing this song", variants of that. Gets on my nerves.

How do you feel about Elton John's "Your Song"? Because I agree but that's a hard exception, it's just so well conceived and executed.
