The show really is a silly dumb mess as a whole. And I love it for it overall but the show sits at that frustrating line for me where it was good enough that I sometimes also just wish that it had been better, you know? Though that's what fanfic is for, I guess.

Can you describe what about the Clary plot was fun to you? I wouldn't have minded it if it had time to breath, which is essentially what I think about all the last addition plotlines. I could see it as a (half) season spanning plotline - the melodrama would have been perfect for the show! But the way it was introduced, no one aside from Clary even knew or realised, and then the show ended just left me baffled. I assume that this is an important plot from the books because otherwise I just don't understand why the writers felt the need to do Clary, Izzy, Jace and even Simon dirty like that. They just lost their best friend/love of their life. That's super sad if you think about it! And it was completely unnecessary to end the show like that, which is what makes it so baffling to me.
