Same. Currently trawling theough ao3 looking fir fic to scratch that itch but I think I've actually read everything :( and not much (good) new stuff is popping up anymore. I need a new fic fandom.

This show never pulled me in despite otherwise enjoying season 1, I think I mostly just found it okay and if I had wanted to wade into the fandom I'd have left after 5 mins anyway because it seemed like everyone was obsessed over a character I couldn't stand.

For fantasy, you might have better luck with books? Or I know it isn't for everyone, but Game of Thrones has the book series and the TV show, plus the House of the Dragon spinoff. There's got to be a lot of material there...

This had happened a lot to me recently lol

I especially hate the international products because I always have to buy 3rd party and there are whole networks and groups you have to go through to get to the pre-sales.

I just want to shout "do you want my money or not?"

It was a common trope around the time, and it persisted for a while, so I agree, ignorant more than malicious.

I really like Crash Bandicoot, but it suffers with the same problem, and it doesn't even have the excuse of the characters being blue.

You can say the 90s but that "tribal" enemy aesthetic is still around in video games today. Look at the most recent Legend of Zelda games, for instance - the enemies wear animal skins and use bone weapons.

To be sorta fair, it's later revealed they only act hostile to Tomba (and outsiders in general)due to being brainwashed by an an Evil Pig, but yeah the implications are kinda gross (especially since Tomba is/can kill the brainwashed innocent tribe just like the evil pigs) .

Given that the tribe doesn't show up or even get mentioned in Tomba 2, it's possible that the creators eventually realized the not so fortunate implications

A LOT of older games I otherwise like fall into "accidentally racist" tropes and it's sad. I also think it's out of ignorance than "fuck [insert race]" since Japan is a pretty racially homogenous country with their own history of being racist/imperialist to their neighbors. Doesn't make it okay, but if the material is decades old the most you can do is analyze it and acknowledge it's a product of that.

I really enjoyed the last two episodes because it felt like it was just having fun with itself and I had a really good time. Granted I enjoyed the show for what it was as a whole: a silly, dumb mess.

So i'm afraid I don't agree with you OP as I had fun with both their wedding and Clary's chaotic drama, but you do you, I'm not going to tell you to change your mind.
