A character in one of my fandoms recently had a redesign that made her breasts smaller and covered her back and cleavage for seemingly no reason, even though an important part of her character is her flirtatious and flamboyant nature. There's a significant chunk of the fandom who sees it as either empowering or not a big deal, and will deride anyone who protests the change as a, yes, "gooner".
Even when plenty of critique is coming from women themselves. I even saw one post from a woman who says she has large breasts, and that binding them to the extent that this character would have needed to would be unsafe/impossible. To me, it feels like it's a step backwards, especially as the male characters run around in next to nothing.
