Re: Apple season

My oldest most productive apple tree ripens from May to July, depending on the weather and how much water it gets. Actually I should start watering it more; in good years it'll make two main crops and sometimes have flowers and fruit at the same time, which makes up for the apples going from green to mealy almost instantly.

But I would like a variety that ripens in fall and winter and keeps longer than a few days. The perils of low chill apples in a subtropical climate.
