Sorry, you're bad forever! Get out of all my spaces, including this one, as you endanger vulnerable people by being here! Also, hope no one ever hires you! We'll make sure all your prospective employers know how bad you are, and we'll harass them until they agree not to take you on, you inherently evil perpetually awful person! We'll harass your friends, too! Anyone who stays friends with you is guilty by association! /s

DA

Weird maybe, but also accurate to how some religious groups treat people who leave them. I figure anon who posted it might have personal experience with that.

It came off as venting, but the "/s" at the end to mark it as sarcastic kind of fell flat because it's like "wow, that's a loaded response to such a simple secret"

AYRT

That's why I figure it comes from personal experience. It's pretty detailed, lol.

It sounds more like they have experience in fandom with being in a similar situation to the OP and being told if fandom was what it took to get them away from religion, they're untrustworthy because all good people should be born with the correct beliefs no matter how they're raised. If your parents told you when you were five that you couldn't watch Kiki's Delivery Service because witches are Satanic and you'll go to hell, you should have said "Hell is just a myth to control people, witches are older than the idea of a Christian hell, gay people should be allowed to get married, and abortion is a human right," not "Ok Mommy."

This response is weirder than the original comment.

I thought it was funny.

Are you okay?

Ayrt

I am at the end of my rope with people around me who seem to think that the road to meaningful change is paved with ostracism and eternal punishment.
