The one thing that I will say in Ray's defense is that Debra was the one who insisted that they move in next to his parents. Is he a terrible husband and a manchild? Absolutely. Did he actually have enough self-awareness to realize that living next to his parents would make him worse? Also yes, but he was overruled.
