This is cracking me up. I never watched Pokemon but if I had I could definitely see me making this assumption and just never really thinking about it.

I read a fic with this premise, way back when Pokemon was fairly new, by a BNF with her own fanfic site. It was about everyone getting weirded out at how Brock would automatically find every single girl attractive and wondering how he could really think every one of them was just that hot. And it was a twist at the end, where someone jokingly asked him "What are you, blind?!" and then there was a silence and everyone was like "....OH." Like he was trying to keep his blindness a secret by inventing a personality trait that relied on being able to see.

It was edited later with an author's note saying she knew the show had proven this impossible so it was just a what-if fic, but at the time I thought it was an interesting idea.
