How do they know how well a player did and how many points to give them?

Goals, defensive, and offensive plays. I don't watch football but there are various stats that are kept track of. I also know nothing about the fantasy aspect, but I assume there's a general points system or the people make it up themselves.

There's a website almost everybody signs up on and it keeps track for you. It's much easier than it was back in the day.

SA, to add: you pick the team members with your friend team and you can trade guys or whatever. If you get the first draft pick, second, etc. you choose the players with the best record you can. I sometimes pick just on stupid criteria like "cool hair" and get lucky, haha. Because who cares? If I lose, it's $20 for my team and fun. If I win, it's $300 at the end of the season.

And you hope none of them break a leg or anything, just like a real team owner.
