In these types of situations, if one person starts winning at Wordle all the time, someone else will say ‘it’s not fun anymore, I’m only doing Spelling Bee from now on’ and the game has changed.

There are people out there that play mental games with everyone else, and if they start to lose, they “change the rules”. It’s not a literal changing of the rules, it’s a figurative change.
