Liked the US version better

For shows and movies it seems to be a universal thing to always dump on the US versions amd love the UK(or elsewhere) versions. Are there shows where you prefer the US version?

Off the top of my head for me is The Office. I wasn't a huge fan of the American one but it was funny enough, whereas I actively dislike the original.

I liked the US office better (minus the last few seasons) because we saw more characters. I also bought Jim and Pam a little more (again, minus the last few seasons) than Dawn and Tim.

DA

Same. I think I only watched 2-4 episodes of the UK Office.

I've always enjoyed The Ring remake to the original version.

Good question. I had to think about this one a bit…

I found the early days of US House of Cards to be more compelling than the UK original, but I think that’s almost entirely because of when they were made. The UK one already felt a bit dated by the time I saw it.

And it’s definitely not a remake, more an inspiration, but I do prefer Leverage compared to Hustle. I mean, I love them both, but I like the way Leverage goes a little harder for both silliness and serious emotion.

Oops, that was me. I didn’t realize I wasn’t logged in.

Oh I've not heard of Hustle, maybe I should add it to my list. I loved Leverage (minis Nate).

Ghosts

Not better per se, but I actually enjoy both versions of Ghosts. They are different types of humor that just both work for me.

I was gonna comment Ghosts, too! I don't like the American version better (I like the British version slightly more), but I do really enjoy it. Both casts really make it feel like an ensemble more than one actor outshining everyone, and I love that.

No one agrees with me on this opinion, but I liked Life on Mars US more.

Maybe because I am not American but none. But I do prefer my own country's The Nanny adaptaion

Do you not enjoy shows from other countries? I know sometimes, especially sitcoms types, the humor or characters just don't translate well.

AYRT
I usually prefer shows by other countries! That is why I am not into remakes especially. Kinda why would I want a remake, I want a unique view and idea your country can do.

But sitcoms have this kind of humour that can be really miss if you're from a different culture. Also our Nanny has this nostalgic status, she was legendary. But tbf looking back at it, it was kinda racist show.
