Re: How was your weekend?

I followed through with the drive-in, and couldn't be more happy about it! Though there's usually one dunce who can't figure out their lights. This one in particular at least had a bunch of kids jumping in and out of their van, that I figure was some birthday/slumber party that I can probably blame the chaos on that. (and that we were seeing a child friendly movie) Also they left after the first movie so we weren't entirely half blinded for the second shoe, which was great!
There were a lot more people there as well, which makes me so happy because I don't want to see this brand of theatre die out. It really is one of a kind, and even with the dunce with the lights (which isn't every time, really) cannot be replicated in any other way. I just love it so much!

My favourite part is that they still include the film the drive-in included back when it was first made. The pre-movie ads type things about the concession stand and even a pickle you can buy (a chilly dilly) that they still sell today. Half of the ads are what I remember seeing back when I was a kid, (slightly edited or cut though, probably due to wear) others I don't remember at all, but all of them are very clearly voiced and made back in the 50's-60's era, and it just makes the whole experience.
