Is there a reason for that? Saying you're not changing the way you do it no matter what makes it sound like it's a conscious decision, rather than convenience (I use yt videos as background noise for napping and household chores. I'm not stopping what I'm doing to like or comment either. But I do under other circumstances, I'm not opposed to providing engagement in general.)

I never subscribe to any channel that takes time to tell me to subscribe. If I subscribe to a channel and they later start telling viewers to subscribe, I unsubscribe. This is such a pet peeve for me and I don't even know why.

Same, but I'm also even more extreme. I don't use a google account to watch youtube so I don't subscribe to their channels (I use RSS feeds in case) and sometimes I even use newpipe or invidious instances, so not even viewing analytics from me lol

I wish you the best OP. Youtube seems hellbent on making Youtube as unwatchable by any means possible for anyone unwilling to pay up for their youtube premium.

I ended up stop watching Youtube on my desktop when it started crashing my computer, despite having adblock and watching it through a Firefox browser. It gave me a scare because I need my desktop for work and art, so I've been watching it on my tablet. I can pt up with the ads for now, but I hate the dogshit pop-up when you pause the video and have accidentally tapped on it more than once. If I get childlocked out of my account I think that's when I'm gonna call it quits.

More or less same until recently. I actually started commenting on some videos only a short while ago and one of the comments blew up (something on a recipe video about not liking mushrooms but the mushroom recipe in the video looking good) and daaaamn, people get pressed about someone not liking mushrooms, it's unreal. And a few other instances where people were likewise unnecessarily combative about really harmless comments, so I think that's where my foray into commenting on videos ends lol.
