Ginger Island is nice, but I just don’t enjoy it nearly as much as Pelican Town. I have less fun once I get to this point and have mostly finished up the main area.

I love the “And I Must Scream” trope. I could read hours of examples of it. The concept of being trapped unable to move or even speak forever is both horrifying and fascinating to me. Bonus point is the victim is actually immortal, so not even death can free them from their predicament.

Honestly, it is a fantastic horror trope.

I love it too! I was introduced to it in a children's horror anthology that is probably out of print now unfortunately. Not only was the character immortal, he was crushed under a building that had been built overtop him while he was unconscious. So he would spend his immortal life in horrific pain. Or at least until the building was finally demolished.

This trope is so powerful and always got to me, but doubly so after looking after someone who was completely paralyzed and unable to speak. It's something I still dream about regularly, and something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Still makes my stomach drop a bit whenever I see it in fandom.
