I’ve definitely thought that. Of course cats vary a lot, but while our Siamese cat did make those weird sort of possessed noises even when she seemed happy/interested, she never had that kind of body language unless something was upsetting or frightening her.

Exactly this, Siamese cats make some odd sounds and they're super vocal (my friend's neighbour has one and I get screamed at whenever I walk by) but the body language and the running away is so off. There are videos of the owner holding her/cuddling her and she's super chilled out then, so why does she only do this weird stuff when the owner is hidden behind the camera and not in shot?
