I'm confused, I'm not much of a gamer while my wife is, but we just do our separate hobbies and play games together rarely. She isn't upset that I'm just not one to enjoy gaming, nor am I upset that she has always really liked gaming. She tells me about her new games. We do other activities together.

I'm not sure if you're not communicating, your S/O is not listening, or the way you worded the secret makes this come across like a bigger deal than it is. If you really want to play the game in order to spend the time with them that's your choice, but it sounds unpleasant to me if you're putting yourself through that much motion sickness.
