Mexican and Italian are my favorite foreign cuisines. Especially poor Italian with lots of bread, pasta, beans, squash and greens.

Eastern European - root vegetables and cabbage in all forms

Thai curries

Poor Southern Appalachian - grits, hoppin John, collards, ham, sausage, succotash, salmon stew, fried okra, biscuits and gravy

So agreed on Eastern European. The cabbage, the vinegar-based sauces. The seafood dishes. Love it.

Oh and borsht, how could I forget my favorite soup. I'm weird and love beets.

Eastern European is so funny to me because I just can't deal with boiled or fried cabbage and I can't stand beet (I hate things that somewhat sweet but not)
