I like it, but I understand why others don't, and respect that completely. Some of the lyrics are pretty cringe, but I really love the sound.

As for Taylor herself, to be honest, I've only gotten more and more disillusioned. At this point, I like the music in spite of her, not because of her. The many many variants. The FOMO marketing. The extremely cheaply-made and overpriced merch. Releasing a bunch of digital versions on iTunes exclusively since Billboard limited the number of variants that can be sold direct-to-consumer lmfao. Releasing a final version right before the weekly cutoff that had all the voice memos combined on it, after people had bought 4 separate ones already. Yes, yes, people had the choice of buying all of those. No one made them do it. But it's still predatory marketing, and it still rubs me the wrong way. It just feels more obvious than ever that she views her fans as wallets and wants to squeeze the maximum amount of money out of them.

Like literally the iTunes twitter account was inactive since 2019, until this album was announced, and then it was used to market it. Kind of crazy.

Not trying to hate on her! Like I said, I enjoy the album and I'm listening to it a lot, and will continue to. At some point I do want to get a physical copy because I like to have physical media. But there are legitimate things that are kind of offputting.
