I do not believe in ghosts. I think it'd be a fun thing to believe in, but it just reads as the same as magic or gods or fairies or unicorns to me. Filed under, things I think would be cool if they existed but sadly they do not.

I do like fun ghost stories though!

This is my take too. I don't believe they exist but they're a fun concept to read stories about.

honestly ghosts to me seem even more unlikely than anything else, because it seems so obvious why we would desperately want them to be real (fear of death, grief, wanting something to be left)

That's how I feel about gods too. Like *clearly* this was all made up by people desperately wanting it to be real and needing that belief in their lives. Also as an obvious crowd control, for some organized religions.
