Whenever an influencer does this damned tappy-tap-tap with their shitty fake nails on any product they pick up, it makes me wish I could reach through the screen and snap one or two fingers. It seriously pisses me off.

I despise it, I absolutely despise it so much. I think I *do* get the ASMR response, but instead of liking that feeling, it makes my skin crawl. And the way people overexaggerate it, like making a big deal of clicking shit, I agree with the wanting to snap their fingers lol. I avoid anything labeled ASMR but sometimes people will kind of sneak it into videos that aren't called ASMR and I hate it so much.

I can't stand having even medium length nails because it feels like my hands aren't fully clean if I have long nails, and I can't NOT have clean hands. Long nails gross me out, sorry.

Yeah maybe it's just because I've never been able to wear long nails (not a good idea for playing violin, also ill-advised in medicine, no chance in hell you're keeping good-looking nails of any length in geological/paleontological work, good luck not grinding your nails off when using a cabochon machine...), but I can't stand mine even a millimeter longer than 'short', and seeing long nails on other people is a serious ick for me. It's like with dogs, if your nails click when you do basic things, they're too long, and I want to take a hacksaw to the freaking things. The only nails that should be long enough to make noise are horse hooves >:[.

I used to have aluminium venetian blinds in my bedroom. If you have ever wondered what it sounds like when a HUGE HUNTSMAN SPIDER walks across metal venetian blinds... well, it sounds just like those nails tapping. Tappy tappy tap. Tappy tappy tappy tap.

I recently worked with teenager who would do the tappy tap tap on everything. I wanted to throttle her multiple times a day.

I really like it. The tingles to my ears are really soothing. I tap my nails on everything out of habit too so it makes sense why I like it.

I hate the sounds of metal cutlery on porcelain plates/bowls, though, so I get when certain sounds are irritating to others' ears.

Yeah, I love the nail tapping sound, and the feeling of doing it myself. There's something so satisfying about it.

With that said, I'm not even on tiktok and I've started to find it a little obnoxious due to all the short-form beauty influencers doing it constantly. I'm not even opposed to beauty influencer content. I watch a few beauty youtubers and enjoy them. But the way beauty content seems to be produced in short-form videos rubs me the wrong way. It all just feels like an endless string of commercials to me at this point.

I have a carer with these types of nails. When she moves my hand, it's like it's being picked up by a bunch of knives. It's seriously unpleasant.
