If anything, 2020 got me back into fandom when I'd already kind of been on my way out. Maybe it feels especially bad now because we'd already begun the oversaturation of fandom in mainstream. The pandemic made us feel it was back up and "good" but it quickly came crashing down - this time harder because it hadn't really crashed pre-pandemic.
Regardless, I am sad that fandom isn't very fun again. This time it feels a bit more permanent.
