I get what you're saying here, and I don't disagree. I kind of distinguish it as Taylor Swift the actual living breathing human being, and Taylor Swift the brand. We don't really know very much about Taylor Swift the real person. We know a lot about the persona that is used for her. What she's actually like, who knows? It's impossible to tell. When you're as famous as she is, there just isn't a whole lot of authenticity to be found. And what her brand is like, I don't particularly care for. I think you're right that the brand is designed to go in whatever direction will make her the most money. -shrug- I enjoy some of her music, and I listen to it on Spotify, I don't ever buy physical copies of anything. I am not surprised that her merch is shit quality, but honestly, most merch is. I feel like nice quality merch is an exception. I will say that I think her marketing is genius, the brand has nailed it with making her relatable and such.
