Star Wars needs to stop bringing characters back from the dead. This applies to both EU and canon. Maul. Palpatine. Fett. Numerous Jedi. Enough. Death has lost its meaning in the Star Wars universe. Just give us new characters.

I get it but also no Ben Solo revival means no more Star Wars movies for me.

Same. Done with Star Wars until they bring him back.

This is one of those secrets where the timing has ended up quite funny…

Right??? If someone hadn't mentioned the Ben Solo movie, I was going to.

Why what did I miss?

OP

Personally glad they didn't go there. But weird that Disney balked at that after bringing everyone else back. I'm okay with force ghosts because that's been part of Star Wars all along. But actually bringing them back to life or having them survive things that should have killed them? Enough already.

Yeah fuck them for getting me SO INVESTED in the novel Dark Disciple then just...bringing Ventress back and breaking up her and Quinlan.

I read an article or blog post or something recently where someone was talking about this issue (I think specifically with MCU but it can apply to most major media franchises these days). Death holds no impact because everyone comes back to life. In general, a lot of big events in movies don't really mean much in the long run because future installments just undo it all or otherwise render them moot. It's also a huge part of why I'm burned out on franchises. Nothing that happens that actually matters in any meaningful way. I'm just bored.

Of course death has lost all meaning in the star wars universe, it was just a concept invented by the jedi
