Huh. So it kind of works like bariatric surgery then? In terms of making overeating uncomfortable.

I've gotta shed at least 60 pounds for my health. Like, my knees are giving out. But I have no health insurance, so I'm mostly eating zero-point foods, home-prepared. I feel like WW was onto something adding whole grains, beans, potatoes, etc. to their zero point list because I'll stuff my face with pizza and Taco Bell until I'm sick. Not so interested in second helpings of barley, beans, and boiled potatoes, even dressed up.

Yes, it’s the same effect, just different causes. The drug won’t actually cause backup in the esophagus, it just feels like it will.

lol, the zero point foods are really good if prepared correctly. Spices and oil add minimal calories and lots of taste. I’ve lost 60 pounds and am on my way to 100#.

DA, but yeah that is what I've heard from people I know on it. It makes you feel full faster and you feel really sick if you eat too much sugar or too much in general. So if you're going in with the mindset of fixing your overeating/diet this helps with that. My friends also said it helped with the "food noise" - like they weren't thinking of food all the time. They just ate their meals and moved on with their lives, which was not how it was for them without the medication.

Exactly my experience! Food went back to being fuel, instead of a craving.
