I find it bizarre that you’ve never met anyone who doesn’t like American movies for one reason or another. Too long to sit through, too short to get invested in, too loud/bright/dark/something else, doesn’t care for the commercialism in big studio films or the stereotypical low-budget look and pretension of indie films? Literally everyone you know loves American movies? Weird.

Those are some absolutely wild generalizations you're making there. You do realize that there are multiple thousands of American movies out there that aren't any of those things, right?
