New Things

Anyone tried or done anything new recently?

On the spur of the moment I decided to get nail art on my nails rather than my usual gel polish. She did leaves, and it looks so amazing. It is going to look really good with my elf Halloween costume.

Tried a new brand of chocolates and I am in love. They’re nicely shaped too so I am thinking of washing my old lolita dress just for a tea party shoot eating these.

I tried a new canned mixed drink recently and it was awful. Got to make sure to not get anything branded as zero sugar.

I'm also trying to figure out latch hook since I got one of the little mats on sale.

I haven't watched a new cdrama in a while (though I started a couple and wasn't interested enough to continue) but the other day I started Blood River. It's a story about a rebellion within a large assassin organization in the martial arts world, a prequel to Blood of Youth, which I enjoyed. So far I don't think it's going to be as good, but it's an okay way to pass the time.

Tried to take apart a mechanical keyboard, although that petered out when I realized to get at the actual PCB I would have to desolder 104 keyboard switches. Especially since the keyboard was malfunctioning to begin with on 2 switches, so even just to replace those would require desoldering ALL of them and hoping I didn't mangle them on the way.

[It is helping me rethink what I want in a mechanical keyboard though as I plan to roll my own...]

This morning I unclogged my bathtub with a plunger (I'm used to just pulling bathtub clogs out with my hand or using drano or something). I didn't think it was going to work but it did! The maintenance guys in my apt bldg are never around on weekends so this is a big deal.

I usually use something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/original-Zip-Remover-25-inch-Overall/dp/B08FGH2V5Q

It's so basic, but I have long hair and it works. You just snake it down and wiggle it around, then yank out an absolutely disgusting snake made of hair and soap scum. Revolting, but cathartic.
