But after changing my phone and pc language to US English and therefore being exposed to US American news outlets I get what they mean

ha-ha, this. I have my phone set on English because I hate auto-translated apps, and I am being exposed to her through absolutely random news outlets. Also every discussion here makes algorithm go wild
