DA.

You say this as if this kind of behaviour is unique to self shippers when it very much isn't. I don't do self-shipping and I've seen this kind of nasty, awful behaviour across my time in fandom because some people are just not any good at sharing the sandbox.

Also it shows your complete immaturity that because there's some assholes in a group it means that the whole lot are bad, which is a child's type of logic

It's not immature to block members of a group that annoys you based on bad experiences. I'm not obligated to waste my time with yumes on the off-chance they might be the rare normal ones when I don't want to interact with them or their content anyway. I also block ship tags/stans of ships I dislike and I also block antis. Thats because I AM mature enough to be able to curate my online experience in ways that won't annoy me. I think the vast majority of yumes are cringy and suck. Cry about it, I guess. I have better things to do than give people I want nothing to do with the benefit of the doubt.

And I would block people like you as well, so we're even. Have a nice life.

(Anonymous) 2025-11-01 12:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Lol you wouldn't even know what to block me for because I'm not an anti, I just quietly block and move on.

(Anonymous) 2025-11-01 02:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I mean you are, just not against the usual stuff the gun for. Deciding that an entire group of people are 'wrong' for liking something they do is anti behaviour, but I know folks like you don't like to hear that. But have fun with life.

Nope. Just disliking something and blocking it along with the people who create the content you don't like does not an anti make. This mentality is what makes people go "Waaah I don't even know what an anti IS anymore". YKINMK does not mean "just because you can like what you like doesn't mean I have to want to see it". Nobody has the obligation to humour everyone's shipping preferences. I would not be mad about anyone blocking me for my shipping preferences, I don't know why you seem so offended by this.
As long as you don't attack people for what they like, that's just a boundary. Not being an anti. Learn the difference. It's really not hard.

That really isn't what an anti is.

Antis are actively against whatever it is they're anti- instead of quietly moving on. That's the defining point of anti-ness. "Choosing to ignore/block something and having people be none the wiser" is what people wish all antis would do, and antis are annoying precisely because they don't.

DA
This, it's hardly unique to them. If anything, it's something I encounter in most other average ships than the little that I've seen from self-shippers.

Well I encountered it more among self shippers. Rabieslevels possibly vary depending on fandom.
And again, I also block certain regular shippers. Hell, I block people for plenty of reasons, several of them petty. But any whataboutism won't change that selfshippers are an auto-block for me.
