Not exactly even that, I'm honestly not sure how to put it. Like sometimes there are threads on where were some anon says something obviously factually wrong and people will comment pointing that out, and they respond like they're being bullied and attacked and how dare rude people... not let them go on being confidently wrong?

People's words are getting harsher but their skins are getting thinner at the same time.

I think I know what you're talking about. Like, there are those posts and memes that argue that you shouldn't correct someone, because that's you being...privileged? Arrogant? Selfish? And also, does it really matter if they're wrong (I'd argue that yes, it does)?

It's thin-skinned, yes, but it's also patronizing, because there's an underlying sense that certain people are incapable of handling the ordinary fact of sometimes being wrong.

Yeah, I've seen that, too. Don't get me wrong, people can be nasty and unpleasant online, but there are also people who take ANY disagreement as a personal attack, even if it's perfectly civil and mild. I don't know how those people get through life, but I bet they're insufferable to be around.
