Yeah, that’s not how tax breaks work in any country I’ve studied.
I guess you’re thinking about some kind of tax credit, which is where the government actually gives you money for certain things.
What usually exists for charitable donations is a tax deduction, meaning the government doesn’t charge you taxes on the amount of income that you donated. It reduces the taxes you owe, but doesn’t actually earn you additional income.
