Strongly recommend it! You also never have to worry about trying to grate just the right amount of cheese. You just grate at least as much as you'll need and then whatever you don't use is pre-grated for later.

Also, personally I find it easier to hold the container and grate horizontally than it is to hold one of those grater-towers and grate down the side of it. I think this is more of a matter of personal preference, but if you, too, find those tower graters awkward to use then you might also prefer a container grater.

For those who like tower graters, there are versions of those that come with a container as well: KitchenAid and OXO each have one of that sort and there may be others as well.
