I'll never understand the raw hatred some fans seem to have for Fanfiction.net. The place basically created the modern concept of online fandom. A central archive for everything, open to everyone? Free to use? It is bloody brilliant.

Re: Transcript by OP - open to everything are you f kidding

It's almost impossible to use too, and doesn't do half of what AO3 does.
Want to fix a typo? Cool, now reupload the entire chapter as new document.
Want to read a fic offline or on another device or keep a backup? Cool, get using workarounds since you can't even copy and paste a line of text in a nice review, let alone download a story.
Want to customize the site for easier reading? Nah, don't bother.
Open to everything? Want to post anything explicit? Based on an Anne Rice book? A reader x character fic? A fic with song lyrics? Absolutely not allowed.
Want to see what kind of fic it is beyond Alice/Bob + romance? Is it first time, established relationship, Bob's been genderswapped or Alice never married Colin before she meets Bob? LOL don't be daft, who needs tags.

FF.net may have been great in its day but it's done nothing to modernize, only put more hurdles in place.
A central archive for everything, open to everyone? Free to use? Try AO3.
