I think I could've enjoyed Sherlock more if they'd called it something else, and not made it into a modern AU that messed with Holmes' characterization and proceeded to mangle Irene Adler and Moriarty's characters so badly. As it was, Sherlock is basically House: Private Detective.

Only... House did it better.

Shane is arguably more racist and homophobic than his similarly violent, corrupt, unpleasant coworkers, but I don't think that's why I hate him the most. I think it's because he's such a perpetual fuck-up. Being pathetic and stupid somehow makes me hate him even more than all the bigotry and casual assault.

I'll never understand the raw hatred some fans seem to have for Fanfiction.net. The place basically created the modern concept of online fandom. A central archive for everything, open to everyone? Free to use? It is bloody brilliant.

One of the main reasons I can't get into this game is how much it weirds me out that you can continue playing with characters that have canonically died already. I know gameplay and plot are different but that doesn't help, I still think it's super weird.

I generally think a significant number of character just up and dying on you is incredibly depressing and it would seriously mess up my enjoyment of the game and annoy me if I had pulled for those characters (let alone possibly spent money on them).

Waaaaaaaaaaaay back when i joined fandom, in 2003 or whatever, I would read on FFN sometimes but I could never comment because I wasn't a member/didn't have an account, and I could never GET an account. So, you know...fuck that.

Really? Maybe it was different when I found it but all I had to do was make an account like you would on this website. It wasn’t hard at all. And A03 was similar I just had to apply for an invite code before I could sign up in the same way.
