Soups and stews of all kinds. I love them all year long, but especially great in winter. For specific kinds: chicken or turkey noodle, chili, beef stew, potato soup, lentil soup, italian meatball, onion, chicken and rice, tortellini or dumpling, vegetable, ramin, pho, lemon chicken, wedding soup, borscht, split pea, minestrone.

Hot chocolate.

Pasta is great in winter.

your typical thanksgiving foods: turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn cassarole (mom's recipe is great). And then the turkey bones become soup.

when I make Thanksgiving dinner I always make enchiladas with some of the leftover turkey and Indian-style soup with lentils, tomatoes, fresh spinach, onions and lots of different spices with the last of the leftover turkey including stock from the bones.

Yummy. My mother makes amazing soup. I'm not sure how she does it because I've never managed to make her recipe taste quite as good. But her turkey (or chicken other times of year) noodle soup is so delicious, homey, warm, and inviting. I love it so much.

I also do a sort of pan-Asian chicken noodle soup (it has a mixture of Chinese, Indonesian and Thai seasonings)
