Paralives early access has been delayed to May of 2026, it was supposed to be released in December.

I love The Sims but hate what the series has become, so I'm definitely ready for a competing life sim. However, I don't think Paralives was ever it. People put huge expectations on it even though it's a game from a small independent development studio. When they had their patrons play it, it wasn't at all ready for release due to bugs and lack of gameplay.

I feel bad for people who are disappointed, but the mean part of me is secretly glad, because the stans of that game are fucking unbearable. They have decided that Paralives is going to be the Second Coming of life sim games, it's going to top The Sims in every imaginable way, it's just going to be the greatest game you have ever seen in your entire life.

And I also fucking despise the way the characters look.

I've noticed that there are some really unhinged, aggressive people on here. Like you say something mildly mean, not even about them, and they overreact to be straight up hatefully and nasty. Whatever, I guess they have something else going on in their lives to make them that miserable.

It's not just on here, it's the internet as a whole. And you don't even have to be "mean" to get that kind of response. I once saw someone on Reddit get torn apart for simply saying they don't like dogs. They didn't say they hate dogs or that dogs and dog owners are smelly or that people who own dogs are dumb, they just simply said "I don't like dogs" and got a bunch of responses that they were a monster, only evil people don't like dogs, hopefully they die alone, all kinds of crazy ass shit. It was wild.

i swear i've seen stories on reddit that weren't far off from "a woman bumped into me at the grocery store and didn't apologize, so i went and got a hammer from the hardware department and beat her to death. it definitely wasn't an overreaction" and then everyone cheers them on and agrees with them

More and more I think Stardew Valley is just a massive outlier.

Granted, I'm not in the Sims fandom but haven't there been several games people swore would be the next best LifeSim only for the hype to peter out pretty quickly? Like, last I heard, inZOI was getting hyped to high heavens but that's probably old news already as well.
