Paralives early access has been delayed to May of 2026, it was supposed to be released in December.

I love The Sims but hate what the series has become, so I'm definitely ready for a competing life sim. However, I don't think Paralives was ever it. People put huge expectations on it even though it's a game from a small independent development studio. When they had their patrons play it, it wasn't at all ready for release due to bugs and lack of gameplay.

I feel bad for people who are disappointed, but the mean part of me is secretly glad, because the stans of that game are fucking unbearable. They have decided that Paralives is going to be the Second Coming of life sim games, it's going to top The Sims in every imaginable way, it's just going to be the greatest game you have ever seen in your entire life.

And I also fucking despise the way the characters look.

I have always related more to fantasy and sci-fi characters (or spies, detectives, etc) with metaphorical versions of my experiences than I relate to any realistic characters who share my real-life circumstances. And personality counts a lot more than age, race, sex, gender, sexuality, or anything else.

Sometimes I worry this means bad things about my self-image or ability to relate to others in the real world. But this feels so core to me and has been true for so long, I'm not sure there's any fixing it.

I don't want to sound ungrateful about another large free update for Animal Crossing. I'm glad they're doing it! But, I'm disappointed that the largest chunk of new content, the hotel, is yet another decorating thing. Decorating isn't my favorite in any game, and it feels like that's the biggest focus of AC:NH when you include the DLC of home designing and now this update. The older games had a different kind of charm and I miss that, and wish we were getting more of it.

Fandom is my hobby like casual sports is a hobby. I show up, participate a little, and leave again. Not really interested in making personal connections or hearing about anyone's personal life. Happy to be part of the team while the game is on, but after the activity is over I'm going home.

The number of people that take that super personally and act betrayed that I'm not their friend or emotionally available creep me out sometimes. Friendly acquaintances are healthy things to have.

Like, I like decorating in video games, but I also like the life sim aspect. I probably sound like a thousand other broken records, but there were a lot more goals to unlock with New Leaf. Once you hit 3 stars and you unlock KK Slider, New Horizons is pretty much over unless you want to go into heavy design. You used to be asked to do little quests by the villagers etc. For such an expensive game, there's really not that much replay value except unlocks and designing

I don't get secrets like this. Things are allowed to exist even if you don't like them. And it is possible to find places where just about anything isn't talked about. You just need the right place. Nothing is talked about everywhere.

And, the whole recipes. Is there an incentive to unlock all the cooking recipes? Even then, if there was, it would be a golden chef's hat or something, which you could just buy through Nookazon if you absolutely wanted it
