I don't get the eldest daughter or the youngest child thing in Taylor Swift's song "Eldest Daughter". When I think of "eldest daughter" as, like, an archetype or a struggle that someone has went through, I picture someone like Jana Duggar, the oldest daughter in a family with 19 children, who was a sister mom to her siblings AND was poor/stretched too thin financially for a long time before the Duggars achieved fame and money from their TV show. (If you don't believe me, look into the early years of the Duggars, before the TV show and fame. They didn't even have enough food for all of the children.) In Taylor's case, she grew up in a rich family with just two children. It just seems a little dramatic for Taylor to talk about being an eldest daughter when she had only one younger sibling and definitely was not having to raise him. They are close in age, so it's not like she was caring for a much-younger sibling, and I 100% guarantee she didn't have to give up her nights and weekends to babysit him because the family couldn't afford childcare and mom and dad were working. I too am the oldest child and have one younger brother and grew up middle class, nowhere NEAR as well off as the Swift family was, and I don't relate to this narrative at all.

This also goes for youngest child as referenced in the song. Travis had one older brother....... I hardly believe he was raised up in the wild lol.
