I agree with this. But then again, I also will absolutely buy this type of product for certain fandoms (Star Wars and LOTR mainly). So I don't really have room to be annoyed.

I have to admit, this is reminding me of when I was a kid and the prequel Star Wars movies were being released. There was SO Much merch for Jarjar Binks and Darth Maul that came out at that time (especially Darth Maul - I remember a classmate having a backpack of his head that looked really creepy and I could see it staring back from where it hung in the cloakroom while sitting at my desk).

One of my favorite toys as a kid was the toy lightsaber I had. I went as Luke from ROTJ for 6 Halloweens in a row with that lightsaber.
